The book presents the second in Bulgaria by its size collection of Bulgarian hand-written books kept nowadays in the Church-Historical and Archival Institute of Bulgarian Patriarchate in Sofia. This book is the first volume of the four-volume series ‘Hand-written and documentary monuments from Bulgarian lands from the period of 13th through 17th century AD’ and shows Biblical books created by the medieval Bulgarian men of letters along with those books’ exceptionally interesting artistic decoration thus revealing broad cognitive horizons on literary achievements of medieval Bulgarians.
